"Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will life up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
Two are Better
My original intent for reading Two Are Better: Midlife Newlyweds Bicycle Coast to Coast was pure curiosity. I mean, two never before married, 50 year old newlyweds on a cross country honeymoon bike trip....how on earth would they survive?
Little did I know the adventure authors Tim and Debbie Bishop were about to take ME on!
"If you worry about what might happen, you will have great difficulty accomplishing , let alone pursuing, any goals and dreams."
Besides a spectacularly vivid photo diary of their coast to coast travels, this book serves as an encouragement to step out of the box and embrace all that life and the Lord has for us. Within these pages I found myself riding alongside these two as Tim recounted the trek in interesting and plentiful detail while Debbie added her thoughts on their experiences both as rider and newlywed wife.
As they rode from The Pacific to The Atlantic Ocean, I loved reading about their growth in physical and spiritual strength as they covered many miles together with the Lord while also sharing their ministry passion, TheHopeLine.
"You can't stop living life waiting for perfect conditions...."
