Today is 'D-day'.
That's code for the 21st day of the 21 Day Fix from Beachbody!
This is where I share my results of my journey.
I started this program because I really wanted to fix some bad eating habits and lack of portion control. I can say that at the end of these 21 days my "food mindset" has been reset! I'm no longer eating 3 HUGE meals a day, but a healthy amount broken into 3 smaller meals and 2 snacks. I've also traded an hour at the gym three times a week for a 1/2 hour of focused exercise everyday.
Omitting the scale, I chose to document my journey by measuring tape and the fit of my clothing. With my ultimate goal of improving my eating habits, I knew that once that was accomplished I would EVENTUALLY loose inches. That being said, I was not counting on results this soon.
Towards the end of last week, I was able to put on a pair of yoga pants that I have been unable to comfortably wear for the past 4 years without looking obscene. So, it was obvious that I had lost some inches.

Getting back to the results. Today I cautiously got out the tape measure. First, I measured my upper arms. Drat! I lost NOTHING! At first, I was bummed but then I reminded myself of my original goal and allowed myself not to feel failure.
Next I measured my chest. Down 1/2 inch. Ok, that's cool!
Then, the unexpected part.... my waist = down 2 1/2 inches! Hips = down 1 inch! Thighs = down 1/2 inch EACH side! That's a total of 4.5 inches LOST!!!!
That takes my sizing in inches from a total of 180.25 to 175.75. Happily this also means I can fit back into the majority of my clothes without looking 'stuffed'!
What a great feeling to see these results and know it has to do with controlling portions and focused exercise!
One quick note about Shakeology. Shakeology is a meal replacement drink made by Beachbody. My coach gave me 6 samples to try. 2 each of the vanilla, chocolate and chocolate vegan (my personal favorite!) to try. These beauties fill you up, make you feel great and help with cravings. While I'm sure using Shakeology will give you faster results, you still will achieve health gains (and inches lost) without it by following just the 21 Day Fix program's portion control and exercise.
A huge thank you to my coach for her time and expertice. I'm grateful for this opportunity to 'reign in' the portion monster and get my health back on track! I am very happy with these results and feel so good that I'm going to start round 2 tomorrow!
