Sticky Icky Booger Bugs Book Review & Giveaway!

I have to admit that prior to this year my world was not touched by Cystic Fibrosis. Recently an online friend lost her daughter to this awful disease. Because of that, I was drawn to the book Sticky Icky Booger Bugs.

Author Sherry Frith wrote Sticky Icky Booger Bugs as a legacy for her children, two of which live with Cystic Fibrosis.

Sticky Icky Booger Bugs

Cystic Fibrosis causes life threatening, thick and sticky mucus to build up primarily in the lungs.  Instead of dwelling on the disease itself, this book concentrates on the every day life of Kory,  a young boy dealing with the disease. His world consists of rituals of inhalers, nebulizers, and shaker vests while trying to live "normally" keeping the Sticky Icky Booger Bugs at bay.

This warmly written tale told in storybook form helps to shed light on the never ending, everyday treatments these kids face and just how special Cystic Fibrosis kids are.

You can connect with Sherry on her website and on Facebook.
